"Blogging" was never my cup of tea...However, I decided upon it when I saw a very dear friend of mine was finally voicing her feelings and opinions through this ..and her blogs did more than just impress me...it 'inspired me'!!! So here I am...all geared up for blogging!!!
Blogs are nothing but technologically glorified diaries...(that's what I perceive it to be) and hence this got me to think that diaries are personal, where people express their innermost feeling, secret desires, darkest truths and wishful thoughts...!!! Shouldn't it be kept private?? We all have grown up hearing that if some one's diary is read without permission, it shows poor manners. And here we are openly displaying our thoughts through our blogs. I admit, it has its pros (like voicing opinion about social issues, better communication) but when we choose to write something personal, do we run the risk of letting others judge us through these display of words? but again how much true are we, when we are writing something personal, in view of public?? It is always a carefully woven string of politically correct words...!!! Neither we are completely honest with ourselves nor with the readers!! Very few of us, actually have the courage to 'write' the 'truth'...so whom are we fooling? our self or the people who are reading our blogs?? Diaries behold true episodes of a person's life...but in this case this special technological diary beholds the modified version of truth...an unusual glorification...an unusual diary!!!
well , the e-diary concept as i see it, is not supposed to be a substitute for a personal diary but more a space where you can share all your ideas, thoughts and views about anything under the sun, without killing a million trees in the process.A blog's purpose is to inspire or instigate further thought among those who care to read it.
